meet dr. Parisa

Dr. Parisa Tashakkori is the owner and pediatric dentist at Bluebird Pediatric Dentistry, where she is living her dream of caring for the children and families in the community she proudly calls home. A Boone native, she's thrilled to have made the "Boone-erang"—returning to the High Country to build her practice and serve the place that shaped her.

Dr. Parisa earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology from Appalachian State University before receiving her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and received the Academy of Dentistry International Student Servant Leadership Award for her commitment to leadership and service.

After practicing general dentistry for several years, Dr. Parisa realized her true passion was caring for children. She completed a pediatric dentistry residency at Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, where she received advanced training in caring for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special healthcare needs. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Today, Dr. Parisa enjoys creating positive dental experiences for children and helping families build healthy smiles that last a lifetime. Outside the office, she lives in Boone with her husband, Jakob, and their son, Kian. She loves running, biking, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with family and friends.
